We are delighted to offer Casa Verde in Andalucia in Spain and the Jardin des Douars in Essaouira in Morocco.

Casa Verde is a lovely 4 bedroomed village house in an historic white painted village on the banks of the Rio Guadiana. Described as ‘quirky’ by Sawdays and ‘with unspoilt charm’ by one of our guests, I think it gives a chance to experience hidden Andalucia, but with all the mod cons of modern life.

The Jardin des Douars is our latest find, offering both hotel rooms (25 and every one different) and 3 self-catered villas. I visited in both 2014 and 2015 and wanted to be able to offer it as part of Southern Escapes, as, frankly, if I had a hotel or villa in Morocco, then this is what I would want to have! Charming and pretty and an oasis of calm – a place to do as much or as little as you would like, and a truly great inspirational insight into Morocco.

What you said

Casa Verde is the most wonderful place! The location in Sanlucar de Guadiana is very special with stunning views over the river to Alcoutim in Portugal. The house itself is gorgeous, a quirky but authentic layout with surprises round every corner, whether it’s the stunning views from the 3 terraces or the wonderful decor - a testament to Val’s interior design skills and eye for detail. Every amenity and gadget is there - one of our favourites was the juicer to make fresh orange juice for breakfast. The bed was huge and comfortable and there was plenty of hot water thanks to the solar panel on the roof - and that was in December!
We ushered in the New Year on the terrace (the one with comfy sofas) first in Spanish time and then an hour later did it all again watching fabulous fireworks across the river in Portugal! On New Years Day it was hot enough for shorts and basking in the winter sunshine from the larger terrace with squishy bean bags and the plunge pool (didn’t go in on this visit but will next time!) We’ll be back."
