Casa Verde, Sanlucar de Guadiana, Spain
Casa Verde is a lovely 4 bedroomed village house in an historic white painted village on the banks of the Rio Guadiana.
Described as ‘quirky’ by Sawdays and ‘with unspoilt charm’ by one of our guests, I think it gives a chance to experience hidden Andalucia, but with all the mod cons of modern life.
The Jardin des Douars Hotel & Villas, Essaouira, Morocco
The Jardin des Douars is our latest find, offering both hotel rooms (25 …and every one different) and 3 self-catered villas.
I visited in both 2014 and 2015 and wanted to be able to offer it as part of Southern Escapes, as, frankly, if I had a hotel or villa in Morocco, then this is what I would want to have!
Charming and pretty, and an oasis of calm – a place to do as much or as little as you would like, and a truly great inspirational insight into Morocco.

We have returned from our lovely holiday in Casa Verde. What a lovely little spot you have found there – it is really quite special and I think you need to keep it a secret so it doesn’t get an influx of tourism!
