How to get to Casa Verde in Sanlucar de Guadiana

From Faro International Airport:
Faro airport is just over 1 hour away, about 90 kms away. We would recommend taking a hire car from the airport (almost all car hire firms are represented on airport). Almost all of the journey is on very good roads (part of which is a toll road).

If you do not drive then you can take the low cost airport transfers offered by the company Hoppa: www.resorthoppa.com About 20.00 euros/person. They take you from the terminal to Ayamonte. (not more than one hour). From there you would need to take a taxi.

It is also easy to take the bus from the airport to the railway station. Then the train to Vila Real (about one hour) and then the bus from Vila Real to Alcoutim (about 2 hourly).

Alternatively, you can also take a transfer direct from Faro airport to Casa Verde. Using www.suntransfers.com, you can book online. This would be using the Portuguese taxi firm from the airport to Alcoutim (on the opposite bank of the river), then taking the water taxi across the river. A lot of fun! Cost for taxi for up to 4 people 190.00 euros return.

From Seville:
Seville is only 160 kms away and take about 1.75 hrs driving time. Hire car firms are all available at the airport.

There are also buses which connect every day between Seville and Ayamonte. You can consult the times and prices in the following website: www.movelia.es. From Ayamonte you would take a taxi to Sanlucar de Guadiana.

From Jerez de Frontera:
Jerez is 240 km from Sanlucar de Guadiana and the roads are really good and very empty. The journey time would be about 2.5 hrs. all major car hire companies serve the airport and there are no toll roads.
